The UNIDOS Center for HSI Community Coordination is excited to invite mid-career faculty to participate in professional and leadership development through the UNIDOS Leadership Institute. This program is designed to strengthen professionals as they focus on achieving their career goals and navigating emerging leadership opportunities (e.g., department head, research center directors, or program directors).
At UNIDOS, we are guided by principles of collaboration, shared leadership, and building capacity across communities. We hope you’ll join us as you strengthen your leadership skills and excel within your academic field!

Who Should Apply?
We welcome participation from all members of the community who are passionate about strengthening their academic leadership skills and are committed to leading growth or change initiatives within the HSI community.
All faculty from STEM disciplines at two- and four-year HSIs are welcome to apply; no previous UNIDOS involvement or NSF awards are required — just a commitment to shared learning and collaboration.
We specifically encourage applications from mid-career faculty at Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) who are (or have recently) stepping into or preparing for formal leadership roles, such as department chair, program director, or similar positions that shape academic or administrative direction.
Applicants should work in departments or units that directly support undergraduate STEM education or research on STEM education, and be positioned to lead efforts that strengthen student learning and success or build institutional capacity.
This opportunity is designed for individuals who are eager to grow as leaders, contribute to meaningful change at their institutions, and engage with a network of peers equally committed to advancing STEM education in HSI contexts.
